After joining forces for American Flyer #1, Larry Welz, Larry Sutherland and Larry Todd collaborated again in Monolith. Well, Larry Todd only did the back cover, but Welz and Sutherland give us several nicely illustrated stories, including the beginning of a post-apocalyptic epic, “The Escape from the Dead City.” Not quite American Flyer #2 (which arrived the following year), but it’s close. I wish we had seen more issues of Monolith and I certainly wish “The Escape from the Dead City” had been continued anywhere.
