about this issue
At last! The premiere underground comic does Underground Rock & Roll and it's about time too. Leading off we have a new Fat Freddy's Cat story by Gilbert Shelton, who used to keep his electric piano directly below his drawing board in ROP's San Fran studio so he could loosen up his fingers and develop some fresh inspiration whever he needed it.
Then Mary Fleener relates a true story from her days in a band playing the Lavendar Circuit of dyke bars in LA. From Dutch based Willem we learn the truth behind the rumo rthat Rock & Roll is a Commie plot aznd Scott Nickle checks in with another view of the LA scene. Joe Lee's Perchance Ta Canasta hasn't got much if anything to do with Rock & Roll but it's a great story anyway. New talent Ace Backwards savagely lampoons everyone and everything with his Twisted Image show us what happens when generations of rockers clash.
RL Crabb's Green Stuff tells a story of drug days of R&R. Next a couple of Mike McGetrick's lighthearted "Rock Starr" strips followed by Bill's Band by Terry Laban, another rising star. Ron Foss contributes the one page Take It All Off.
Dennis Worden's Stickboy in FTW continues episode three. Lindsey Arnold delivers a true tale of rock and roll with On Tour with the Captain. Bruce Bolinger's Stranger in a Strange Land and Wayne Honath's Bobfellows are followed by Larry Todd's Rock and Roll Aliens wrapping up the issue.
