All Girls Thrills
Print Mint (1971)
In Patrick Rosenkranz’s terrific tome, Rebel Visions, Barbara “Willie” Mendes says that “Don Donahue said All Girl Thrills was the worst comic he ever saw.” Now, I can’t pretend to know more about this than the legendary Donahue, who not only saw some of the finest comic books ever made but also published them, but I will declare his opinion is only partially correct. All Girl Thrills is an ok comic book.
Trina Robbins also lends her seasoned and graceful lines to the book, which are put to good use in her 10-page tale “Speed Queen.” All things considered, All Girl Thrills is likable enough for the second comic book in history to feature all women creators. (Just not as good as all those written and illustrated by men, according to Donahue, who should know.)
