Arcade, The Comics Revue #2 continues the ambitious objectives of the editors and contributors. The magazines starts off strong with R. Crumb’s “Modern America,” but struggles in various areas from there. The biopic of Henri Rousseau, “A Couch in the Sun,” delivers little of the magic I would expect from an artistic genius like Rousseau. And “Classics Crucified” gives us Goethe’s “Faust,” which just seems to plod its way through four pages. Hey, did anybody remember that this is supposed to be comics?
The cover art by Crumb is another outstanding effort, though.
