Several comic creators join the list of contributors to Commies from Mars for the third issue, including Peter Kuper, who kept contributing stories for the rest of the run. S. Clay Wilson also became a regular after providing the marvelous “Commies from Mars” for this issue. Ian James and Jon Rich collaborated to give us “Prayers from a Closet” and J. Michael Leonard provides “Rogue Comet.”
The front cover art from John Pound is another classic. Check out the monster with his tentacles around the roller-skating beach babes; he’s sporting a customized surfer t-shirt, a boom-box hoisted on his shoulder, a can of Olympia beer, and a syringe of god-knows-what drug! Another delightful Pound cover with so many details (quite beyond the monster, I might add) worth studying.
