Jerry arrives at the beach house belonging to millionaire Charles Tabey where Omaha was brought to look after her friend Shelley (Tabey’s erstwhile mistress) who is recovering from wounds received after the riot at Charlie’s Underground. Jerry is greeted by Huddle, a trained nurse and Charlie’s bodyguard who has been helping care for Shelley. Although he saved Shelley’s life, Huddle feels guilty about her injuries and is concerned that the strain of caring for her is beginning to war on Omaha.
