Last Gasp November 1977
This Trina Robbins comic was inspired by the notorious feminist Margo St. James, who fought to improve prostitutes’ rights and organized 1960s sex parties and orgies. Little wonder that this epic tale is about a beautiful, heroic prostitute who travels halfway around the world to help out a friend and becomes trapped in international politics, a sting operation and sex with old bald men.Feminist bullcrap with lesbian undertones (but no actual lesbianism, the worst kind) man-hating whores in a murky, confusing plot she couldn’t resolve in one issue so it’s forever unfinished. I detest this and other works by Trina but I include them as a Last Gasp completist. This bint has spent half her time bad-mouthing Crumb, without whom she would never have been heard of and hasn’t been heard of since.
